The Camera Obscura says it's closed for repairs, which may last for weeks.
In a Tynwald question for written reply, Ramsey MHK Dr Alex Allinson asked Education, Sport and Culture Minister Daphne Caine when the last condition survey was done on the Douglas landmark.
Mrs Caine replied it was last assessed in March, which led to work being done on the roof.
More issues were found later, with wooden decking and rusted steelwork now needing replacing.
