Victims Urged to Come Forward In Light of The Conclusion of Yesterdays Case Dating Back 30 Years
Yesterday saw the conclusion of the trial of a 58 year old local man found guilty of indecently assaulting and raping his four step children, between the years of 1974 and 1984.
The un-named man subjected the three girls and one boy to years of serious sexual abuse, as well as physical violence, threats and intimidation.
He was jailed for 18 years.
With this in the mind Victim Support are appealing to anyone who may have been a victim of physical or sexual abuse in the past, but are yet to come forward about it.
Paula Gelling from Victim Support has said she wants to reassure any victims that there are people and places you can turn to to help you determine what the next step should be.
You can contact Victim Support on 679950.
