A 99-year-old war veteran has received more than 400 well-wishes and has returned home after falling ill.
The Onchan branch of the Royal British Legion confirmed the news earlier today.
It comes following President Hector Duff being admitted to Nobles Hospital, with the acclaimed and much loved veteran turning 100 next month.
An appeal was made to send him well-wishes, and more than 400 messages flooded in.
The branch has now confirmed Hector is home and recovering well.
In the post it says "Our Facebook page has been inundated with get well messages. He is now back in the comfort of his own home, doing well and loves hearing everyone’s comments!"
His grand daughter Chelsie added "We can’t thank you enough for your good wishes, they have really cheered him up."
