Nearly eighty fire alarms were set off in Island schools since last January, with eight suspected to have been caused by students or vandals.
The figure was given in response to a Freedom of Information request.
Only one alarm was recorded as having involved a fire, when St Ninian's High School students set fire to loo roll in the boy's toilets.
Other cases where working alarms were set off were caused by pupils vaping.
