Police have launched an investigation after someone broke into an aviary in Greeba - releasing two Goshawks into the wild.

The offender clipped three sections of the enclosure pen sometime between 5pm on Saturday and 3.30pm on Sunday.

The owner is concerned that the female of the pair - who is blue and grey on her back and light grey on her breast - will not be able to sufficiently care for herself.

The male has darker horizontal barring across his tail with a tiny white tip on his tail feathers.

Anyone with more information is asked to contact Police Headquarters on 631212.
