Farmers who need help following the severe weather have been urged to contact a special hotline.
The heavy snow and freezing conditions mean livestock has suffered with many farmers forced to dig their animals out of the snow – both dead and alive.
Some farmers urgently need food and shelter for their
animals.
Anyone who requires help, or who can offer it, is asked
to contact 685844.
The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture says it will match farmers’ problems with offers of assistance.
