Enterprise Minister Tim Johnston says livestreaming the TT from your vantage point breaches a broadcasting contract and will mean his department takes action.
He faced a question for written reply from Douglas Central MHK Chris Thomas about people's rights to film or stream the racing action.
In his response, Mr Johnston said there's a difference between fans sharing short clips and anything which could compromise the event's official live broadcasts.
And he says the department uses digital rights management tools to remove unofficial live streams on sites like YouTube.
