Unemployment figures Rise
As expected levels of unemployment on the Island are continuing to rise into the second half of 2009.
As it stands 981 people on the Island are out of work, that represents 2.3 per cent of the working population.
This figure fell back toward the 900 mark, from June onwards however it’s climbed back toward 1000.
Hospitality has been worst hit with their figure of unemployment going from 96 to 105 over the month.
The Islands figure comparatively is
still much lower than that of the UK
and Ireland.
