Centrica will highlight lucrative opportunities during Energy Expo presentation
The plans for a massive wind farm development just outside of the Isle of Man’s water territory will be explained in greater detail this weekend at the Energy Expo.
Energy supplier Centrica have been given the development rights for The Irish Sea Zone, which could see upto 1000 turbines set up at a cost of over £800,000,000.
The turbines would be based 12 miles off the south east coast of the Island, and would only be visible on a very clear day.
Although we wouldn’t benefit from the power generated, Centrica say there could be many lucrative opportunities for local businesses.
Things like surveying and maintenance works can be supplied by on Island companies.
Centrica will be holding the talk at the Energy Expo tomorrow afternoon at 1pm at the Isle of Man College.
