Police on the Island have drafted in a UK force to help them examine storage devices which could contain hundreds of thousands of indecent images of children.
The Isle of Man Constabulary says it doesn't have the 'set-up' to be able to go through the electronic equipment which was found in the possession of Douglas man Martin Cleator.
The 44-year-old has previously admitted four counts of making indecent images of children - it's understood further charges could be brought against him.
At Douglas Courthouse this week a 10-week adjournment was requested whilst the work is carried out - once material has been extracted it will be sent back to the Manx force for categorisation.
Cleator will next appear in court on November 30th - there was no application for bail and he was remanded at the Isle of Man Prison until that date.
