Manx Utilities says nine Manx companies and two from the UK are helping it with work on renewable energy.
A Freedom of Information request asked for details of the organisation's spending on green energy including wind, solar and hydro.
In its response, it said it currently had a total of 11 companies contracting or consulting on renewable energy.
And it added solar and wind energy contracts were worth a total of just over £3 million.
