Flights Grounded Until At Least Tomorrow
An official announcement has been made that the UK airspace will be closed off to flights until tomorrow morning at the earliest.
This means then that no flights will be leaving the Island for the rest of the day, a review will be carried out early tomorrow morning.
Ronaldsway terminal building remains open to deal with customer enquiries and travellers who may not be aware of the situation.
Given the nature of the volcanic cloud it’s very difficult for the Island’s meteorological teams to predict when the airspace can be reopened.
