University College Isle of Man (UCM) has announced it will be creating two new courses.
The institution has opened applications for the Diploma in Dental Nursing (BTEC Level 3) and Extended Diploma in Football Studies (BTEC Level 3) for the 2021/22 academic year.
The Dental Nursing course content will be delivered through the use of technology, with learners at Guernsey College of Further Education, and aims to meet the needs of both, the Isle of Man and Guernsey.
Meanwhile, the Football Studies course is a two-year fulltime course, which is equivalent to three A-Levels, and is delivered in partnership with FC Isle of Man.
UCM Vice Principal, Joanne Richardson, says: "We are very excited to introduce these new courses to our wide range of offering. Prior to launching these new courses, we talked with the relevant stakeholders including FC Isle of Man and dental practitioners, as well as health & social care and sport students to gauge their interest in these courses.
"Their feedback has been very positive; we hope that these qualifications will help raise the current excellent industry standards in dental nursing and sport on the island."
The college will also be hosting an information morning at the Homefield Road campus in Douglas on Saturday, February 27, where aspiring students can find out more about the courses on offer.
It'll take place on the day from 9.30am to 12.30pm.
