Tynwald has voted to spend an extra £17 million on sewage treatment for Laxey and Peel.
In 2019, the court budgeted £23.5 million to build treatment facilities to put an end to pumping raw sewage into the sea.
However, in the past three years changing plans and commodities inflation have seen the total cost rise to £40.4 million.
Yesterday, MHKs and MLCs voted to give Manx Utilities the extra cash to finish the work by December 2024.
