Plans are in place to increase the minimum wage paid to people working on the Isle of Man.
The Department of Economic Development will ask Tynwald to bring the Island's rate in line with the UK's national living wage:
If the recommendations, suggested by the Minimum Wage Committee, are accepted the amount paid to people of all ages will rise.
The department also wants to bring in a fifth wage band, to cover those aged 25 and above, which would see people paid £7.50 an hour.
Minister Laurence Skelly says it will hopefully attract people into work and raise living standards:
Record number of seal pups recorded
Proposed laws could mean free period products
Unemployment fell slightly last month
GP waiting times to be raised in House of Keys tomorrow
Waves higher than predicted on crossing which damaged cars
Spitfire flights to be launched from Ronaldsway
