The heads and terms of a new sea services agreement for the Island have been approved by Tynwald today.
The 25-year agreement would replace the current one and come into effect in January 2020.
The document which forms the basis of it specifies terms on new vessels, special offers and refurbishment of passenger facilities.
A proposed amendment was put forward by Douglas East MHK Chris Robertshaw but this was rejected by members.
