Tynwald has voted to approve an extra £15.3 million for the health service, to cover the past year's overspend.
Health Minister Claire Christian explained extra costs had come from spending on drugs, off-island care and new services.
She stressed the Department of Health and Social Care made savings of over £13 million through a special programme, despite being overbudget.
Tynwald members voted to approve the funding by 25 votes for to six against.
