The Police have said they are currently working to reduce delays but motorists are urged to take alternative routes if possible.
Two road traffic collisions in relative close proximity have caused havoc on the roads outside Douglas this afternoon.
The first collision occurred on Pulrose Road from its junction at Peel Road and Groves Road, this resulted in a closure for a few hours.
After this reopened there was a further accident on Groves Road.
