Two motorbike riders were killed following a collision on the Mountain Road earlier today.
At approximately 11:10am, a German registered Ducati 848 and a UK registered Yamaha bike collided at the Black Hut.
As a result, both riders were pronounced dead at the scene.
A third rider was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police described it as a difficult scene to investigate; both bikes caught fire following the crash - causing considerable damage to the road surface.
The Mountain Road has been closed all day - the stretch from Ramsey to Tholt Y Will is expected to be closed until at least midnight tonight.
Officers are appealing for witnesses to aid in their inquiries.
