Two men have been jailed for their part in a daytime drunken attack in a Douglas park.
Daniel William Kelly and Steven John Cannon, who both gave their address as the Isle of Man Prison, appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
Both admitted one count of assault, while Kelly also pleaded guilty to resisting police, stealing a mobile phone and being drunk in a public place.
Prosecutor Rebecca Cubbon told the hearing both had been drinking with a third man in Glen Falcon Gardens shortly before 6pm on July 24 when an argument broke out.
Kelly punched the man and slammed him to the ground before Cannon tried to intervene but also punched their victim.
Kelly left the area, taking the man’s iPhone, but was arrested nearby and struggled with officers as he was taken into custody.
After hearing both had previous convictions and carried out the attack while on bail, magistrates said they had no alternative but to jail them.
Cannon was imprisoned for two months, while Kelly was jailed for a total of four months.
