Two fatalities confirmed following road traffic collisions

It’s been confirmed that yesterday’s two road traffic collisions resulted in two fatalities.

At 6.57am there was a three vehicle collision on the St John’s to Kirk Michael road, involving two motorcycles and a refuse collection wagon.

The rider of a blue and white Suzuki bike suffered fatal injuries, with the other rider taken to Nobles Hospital for treatment.

The road was closed for approximately eight and a half hours whilst Police conducted enquiries at the scene.

At 11.30am there was another incident, this time at Bulgham on the Laxey to Ramsey coast road.

Involving a motorbike and a red Citroen, the rider of the bike again died of his injuries; he was a visitor from the North East of England.

The road was closed for approximately six hours whilst Police conducted enquiries at the scene.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have information regarding the separate tragic incidents.
