Port St Mary RNLI volunteers were called out twice in two hours yesterday.
Shortly before 11am, the Gough Ritchie went to the aid of a catamaran which got into difficulties at the entrance to Castletown Harbour.
After the vessel was safely moored up, the lifeboat crew was called to report of children in difficulty on the swimming raft in Chapel Bay in Port St Mary.
That, however, turned out to be a well-intentioned false alarm, and two boys were accompanied back to shore.
