A woman who was almost twice the drink-drive limit hours after a crash on the Mountain Road has been banned for two and a half years.
Stephanie Marie Shaw of North Shore Road in Ramsey appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
She admitted drink-driving and driving without due care and attention at the Waterworks on July 29.
The court heard Shaw lost control of her Hyundai at around 1.20am, four hours after she messaged a friend to tell them she was 'getting smashed' on whiskey at home.
After the crash, which demolished a stone wall, the 32 year old walked home and returned to her vehicle with a friend later that morning.
Police spotted her, and she was arrested and taken to police headquarters where a breath test showed she was over the limit.
Magistrates ordered her to do a total of 120 hours community service and pay £125 costs as well as banning her from driving for 30 months.
