Sickness among public sector workers on the Island is almost twice as high as it is in the UK, according to a new report.
The Public Service Commission's annual report, now available on the government website, shows the average amount of time lost due to illness last year was 5.3 per cent.
The UK's Office for National Statistics says the equivalent figure there was just 2.9 per cent.
The PSC report says manual and craft workers had a higher percentage of worktime lost, saying that could be down to the nature of their jobs.
