TT visitor admits causing head on crash

A TT visitor from Derbyshire is behind bars after crashing into a fellow biker and fleeing the scene.

57-year-old Martin Francis Bradbury, of North Road in Glossop, hit the man in Sulby on June 7th.

Police were called to the Sulby Straight just before 5.45pm after witnesses saw Bradbury's Suzuki cross into the opposite carriageway and hit the male biker head on.

They then watched as he escaped through a gap in the hedge - the man suffered fractures to his collarbone, femur and fingers and a torn tendon in his knee.

At Douglas Courthouse yesterday  Bradbury pleaded guilty to causing serious bodily harm by driving without due care and consideration.

He also admitted drink driving and failing to stop and report an accident.

The court heard Bradbury initially told police his motorbike had been stolen from The Grandstand on the day of the crash - before coming clean and admitting responsibility.

He'll be sentenced at the Court of General Gaol Delivery - there was no application for bail and he was remanded at the Isle of Man Prison until July 6th.
