A TT racer who died after crashing in a practice session suffered multiple injuries.
The inquest into the death of 50-year-old Paul Shoesmith was opened at Douglas Courthouse yesterday.
The Stockport man came off his bike on the Sulby Straight on June 4th - earlier that day he'd recorded his best ever lap of the Mountain Course in the Superbike race.
The court heard an air ambulance attended the scene but pronounced him dead at 6.39pm.
Coroner of Inquests John Needham released his body so funeral arrangements can take place - the inquest was adjourned to a date to be fixed.
