The Department of Infrastructure says flags at the TT Grandstand have been removed because it's not safe to fly them.
A number of fans had asked about the lack of the traditional flags this year - and Douglas South MHK Sarah Maltby looked into the mystery.
She says an inspection in April found the structure around the poles was unsafe and had to be removed.
But she said the DOI, which is responsible for the building, hopes to have the flags back again in future.
