A special £5 coin to commemorate the 110th anniversary of the TT was released late because new 2017 coins for circulation were being made.
In a Tynwald question for written answer, Douglas East MHK Clare Bettison asked Treasury Minister Alf Cannan why the piece was only released in August.
However, Mr Cannan says it was released in time for the Festival of Motorcycling and has been popular among visitors and locals.
He says the coin will continue to be available in the future.
