The Island's paid tribute to its merchant sailors.
Director of the Isle of Man Ship Registry Dick Welsh - a former merchant seaman himself - laid a wreath at the Merchant Navy Memorial in London earlier this month.
The event marked Merchant Navy Day.
The Isle of Man also commemorated the occasion by flying flags at half-mast.
Mr Welsh visited the memorial in Trinity Square Gardens on tower Hill in London to lay the wreath on behalf of the Island.
He says the Isle of Man has a special affinity with the sea, and many Manx sailors continue to serve in the Merchant Navy.
The Merchant Navy Memorial bears almost 36,000 names of those who gave their lives in service.
