Husband and Wife Trevor and Wendy Baines were yesterday handed custodial sentences after being found guilty of stealing a large amount of money.
71-year-old Trevor was given a two and a half year sentence for stealing nearly £900,000 – that will run on top of the six year sentence he’s currently serving for money laundering.
His wife Wendy was sentenced to 18 months for stealing £400,000.
They had taken the money from a trust they managed to pay for legal fees.
Their advocate Jenny Holt was given a 12-month sentence suspended for 2 years for money laundering and falsifying documents.
She has lodged an appeal against her conviction.
