The Mountain Road remains closed this morning after the decision was reached to shut it due to the high winds last night.
The wind has played havoc on the Island's roads overnight, with half a dozen trees blown down as a result.
The Department of Infrastructure's work teams have been out since 8.00pm last night dealing with the issues, there is one more to take care of on Beachwood Rise; this should be dealt with, within the hour.
Motorists are urged to drive with care as there is a lot of debris still on the roads as a result of the stormy conditions.
The Mountain Road will be reviewed again in an hours time.
