A project is underway in Rushen to plant 1,200 trees in the parish over the next few weeks.
The initiative between Rushen Commissioners, Isle of Man Woodland Trust and the DEFA Forestry Division will see them planted above the Sloc Road with around 200 already there following last weekend.
Lead Commissioner on the scheme, David Radcliffe, says it can be a useful way of raising awareness and addressing climate change whilst providing a project which can get the community involved.
Volunteers will be meeting there at 10.30am for the next five consecutive Sundays - those wanting more information or interesting in sponsoring can contact 834 501 or 456 784.
