Government support for farmers could come in the form of a loan, according to the Treasury Minister.
Eddie Teare has been speaking about the situation faced by many farmers after thousands of sheep and cattle died in the snow.
Some funds have been released early to farmers from the Countryside Care Scheme but it’s only money they were entitled to in the first place.
The minister says consideration is being given to some sort of financial support and says rather than a grant, help could be given as a loan, repayable under certain conditions.
He'll answer questions about the matter in Tynwald today.
Mr Teare says the snow has caused wide-reaching problems for the farming industry.
