The Treasury Minister has this morning been grilled on how the Government savings strategy is shaping up.
Speaking in response to a range of questions put forward by Rushen MHK Juan Watterson, Minister Craine confirmed that the savings set out for this year stood at £26 million, with a further £14 million to be saved for the next year.
She said that by studying the Government Revenue Account at the end of 2010 you could see that the level of departmental saving was broadly in line with the original budget approved by Tynwald.
The £26 million savings target is to be reached by 31st March.
