Treasury Minister holds meetings ahead of Budget

The Treasury Minister says engaging with the local business community ahead of next year’s Budget is vitally important.

He’s had more than 40 meetings with a cross-section of industries to discuss the economic outlook for 2013 and beyond.

The Treasury is currently working on a Budget framework and projections for the next three years to help assist other government departments with forward planning.

The focus is on stimulating economic growth, re-balancing finances and protecting the vulnerable.

Eddie Teare says it is a complex process and he needs to know what people think:
