Treasury Minister Alex Allinson says three equality impact assessments have been done out of 277 policy papers in the past year.
This week in the House of Keys he was quizzed by Ramsey MHK Lawrie Hooper about the impact assessments done on government policy changes.
Dr Allinson said a variety of assessments were done, including equality - but he didn't accept doing so few was a failure.
He said the government was keen to cut red tape:
Nominations open for Manx cultural hero awards
