Government’s controversial decision to bring in a new £50 sewerage charge has made the UK press.
The Independent newspaper has classed it in a list of ‘outrageous taxes’.
Last week Tynwald approved the Water and Sewerage Authority’s plans to charge people from April 1st for having a toilet.
The newspaper describes it as ‘another bizarre government fundraising scheme to add to the history books’.
