A so called ‘toilet tax’ that’s being introduced in April will cost householders £50 per year.
Homes and businesses will have to pay the sewerage charge from April 1st.
The Water and Sewerage Authority says it needs to find the money to cover loan repayments and capital schemes.
Earlier this week the authority was merged with the Manx Electricity Authority to become the Manx Utilities Authority.
