Three people from the Island will receive honours in the New Year Honours List.
Astronomer Howard Parkin is to be given an MBE for services to the understanding of astronomy and the Manx community.
Chair of Peel charity shop, Patricia Mary Costain, will be given an MBE for her contribution to charity and public service.
Meanwhile, Gillian Rosemary Cowley will receive a British Empire Medal for her services to the Royal National Lifeboat Institute over more than 30 years.
And the Lieutenant Governor has awarded a Lieutenant Governor’s Commendation to Sheila Healey, secretary of the Onchan Branch of the Royal British Legion after 20 years working for the organisation.
