The three people connected to the theft of a significant amount of power tools from a building site last week appeared in court today.
Power tools with the combined cost of roughly £8000 were stolen from a heritage homes site on Quine’s Corner in Douglas last week.
Kelly Thompson, Craig Tiernan and Michael Nelson all appeared earlier this morning.
It was revealed that as Police were poised to search the property on Lord Street a plain clothed officer in the area was confronted by Tiernan and Nelson on suspicion he was following them.
Nelson was brandishing a knife, and Tiernan was holding him back, the altercation was resolved without violence and Police commenced their search shortly after the pair entered the property.
Upon searching the residence, which at that time was occupied by all three, a large quantity of the stolen tools were found.
There was also evidence that Ms Thompson had attempted to sell on a power drill after a text message was found advertising the item, an accusation that she denies knowledge of.
Thompson was bailed with a number of conditions in place including a curfew, Tiernan’s bail application has been adjourned till later today, although he was told not to get his hopes up, and Nelson was remanded in custody.
