Mayor and Mayoress of Douglas Councillors Carol Malarkey and Sara Hackman with left to right, Chris Pycroft, DDP, Margaret Brown and Kerry Bell, CIRCA and Minister for Health and Social Care Howard Quayle MHK.

Thousands of pounds has been invested to help people with limited mobility to get around Douglas town centre.

A Shopmobility service has been purchased for Saturdays in conjunction with Douglas Council and the Douglas Development Partnership.

It has cost the council over £5,000, and will operate from 10am to 4pm from Friday.

This will run in addition to the normal weekday service provided by Shopmobility Isle of Man, under the Manx charity CIRCA.
