Those living alone or single-parent families will now be allowed emotional or practical support from one other single household.
The change comes after the Council of Ministers accepted the current circuit-break will continue for longer than previously hoped.
However, Chief Minister, Howard Quayle MHK, warns it cannot be a 'free-for-all'.
It means anyone living on their own or who is a single parent can only get support from one other household that they're comfortable with and not from several different ones.
It won't allow two households which both have multiple people in them to mix with each other.
Ministers met this morning to consider how they could support those who may feel isolated during the extended lockdown.
