The tanks cost £3,735 in total.
Thousands of pounds of equipment was stolen from The Old Nobles Hospital site last week.
The offenders broke into the old hospital on Westmorland Road and managed to get away with two large copper water tanks.
The theft took place sometime between 5.00pm on Wednesday, and 8.00am on Thursday of last week.
The tanks cost £3,735 in total.
Each unit weighs approximately 300kg and police say a large vehicle would have been needed to transport them.
