A two-bedroomed apartment at a new development in Douglas will cost almost £2,000 a month to rent – a month after the Treasury minister told Tynwald they’d cost from £1,100.
A listing on on a local estate agent's website says the Thie Clag flat in the former nurse’s home on Westmoreland Road has two bedrooms and a roof terrace, with a rental price of £1,950 per month.
During April’s Tynwald sitting, Dr Alex Allison told members ‘Rental rates will start at £795 per month for a one-bedroom apartment to £1,100 per month for a two-bedroom apartment.’
More than 200 enquiries about the apartments were received when the development was finished earlier this year.
