Thackery the Tapir has passed away at Curraghs Wildlife Park at the age of 32.
In a statement from the park, they said he passed away peacefully and naturally, and was a lovely gentle tapir.
He came to the Island in 2002 and had two calves with his partner Clanger before she died, and one with his new partner Louka, along with acting step-dad to her son Zeus.
The park's Conservation Fund contributed £4,000 this year to the Lowland Tapir Conservation Initiative to protect tapirs in Brazil.
His passing is no surprise as the species rarely reaches the age of 30, but the park says they'll remember him fondly as a particularly gentle tapir.
