Tensions Run High Over Health Agreement in House of Keys
Tensions were running high this morning in House of Keys with MHK’s levelling strong criticisms at the Chief Minister over the issue of the Reciprocal Health Agreement.
First and foremost the Chief Minister has been accused by MHK’s Peter Karran, David Cannan and Brenda Cannell for simply not trying to rescue the Health Agreement Deal.
The Chief Minister has said in his defence that the Island came up against a brick wall and despite the support of 60 UK MP’s Health Secretary Andy Burnham is not budging on his original decision.
The Chief Minister also said the matter was fast descending into a farce, with MHK’s confusing the public and leading them to believe that a decision reversal is possible.
A request has gone out to Andy Burnham to defer the decision by 6 months, something the Chief Minister has said will most likely not happen as his mind has already been up on the matter.
