There will be temporary traffic lights on Glencrutchery Road for the next eight weeks as water mains are updated.
Manx Utilities says this is final phase of a replacement programme in the area, which provides supplies to the majority of lower Douglas.
The new water main will replace the existing infrastructure which was installed in 1924.
