There are temporary three-way traffic lights on Douglas Promenade from today.
They'll be in operation from 9.30am to 3.30pm each day including weekends and possibly between 6pm and 9pm on two evenings each week if needed.
Government officials say the decision has been made to allow the contractor to ensure concrete works are finished and that the promenade will be ready to open by TT.
The areas affected initially will be Queens Promenade, Summerhill and Strathallan Crescent but the lights will move southwards along the stretch as work progresses.
