Demolition of an old school in the heart of Ramsey is to get underway on Monday.
The old Albert Road School building was closed in 2008 after 103 years.
It was replaced with the modern, environmentally friendly building Scoill Ree Gorree
Contractors will move in to begin stripping out the building on Monday before physical demolition takes place, which will take three months to complete.
The demolition contract includes work for forming a temporary public car park a until construction begins on redevelopment of the site, in two years.
The Government hope to use the site for affordable housing and other amenities for people of Ramsey and the north.
