A teenager who put £23,000 he made dealing drugs through Snapchat into his bank account will be sentenced in May.
Jared Kenneth Ramsey Forsythe of Ballakermeen Drive in Douglas appeared before Deputy High Bailiff James Brooks at Douglas Courthouse.
The 18 year old pleaded guilty to converting criminal property, transferring criminal property, possessing cannabis with intent to supply it and being concerned in its supply.
Prosecutor Hazel Carroon told the hearing Forsythe was investigated after concerns were raised about payments being made into his bank account.
Detectives discovered a large number of cash deposits had been made, and had sent payments to UK accounts marked ‘clothes’, ‘birthday’ and ‘lunch money’.
When they raided Forsythe’s home, they found cannabis and an iPhone which showed he’d been approaching strangers on Snapchat and Telegram, offering to sell cannabis.
Mr Brooks said his powers of sentencing were insufficient to deal with the case and committed Forsythe to the Court of General Gaol Delivery.
Forsythe was bailed in the sum of £500 and will appear again on May 6.
